Here is an idea that I thought is so good, I had to write it down. I woke up one night, and had an idea for a synthesizer with a light panel on the top. As the lights move towards to keys, it gives you time to anticipate what key to hit. Think "guitar hero", the concept is similar. Red lights could be for white keys, and blue lights could be for sharp keys. The keyboard would allow you to upload any midi files, so you could learn any song and adjust to any speed.

There is one keyboard called the ez-200 by Yamaha. It has the lighted keys. My idea is different because the lights come towards to keys so you can anticipate what note is coming. Think about the endless midi powered learning games you could create with such a keyboard.
