Here it is, the moog Taurus petals.  a very fat sound, and also a very handsome instruments as well.  Very well designed and attractive to look at.  I have never actually seen one in the flesh but I hope to someday.  Even better I would like to own one Sunday.  Moog  also made the moog Taurus 2 petals, but  this second generation instrument was not nearly as good as the original.  The sound was a lot thinner and even the look of the instrument was not as attractive.

There are so many classic songs where you can hear this instrument.  Everyone has their favorite but give this track a listen.  The Genesis track "firth of fith". the section with the extended guitar solo is particularly moving and rich in sound due to the addition of these Taurus petals.

Typically you can find these instruments for sale today for around two or $3000.  Similar in price to the minimoog. in fact these two instruments probably use the same oscillators and components.  If anybody sees one of these items on sale on eBay let me know.
